Pokemon Levels and XP
Intro:
What are Pokemon Levels? and how do they affect me?
Your Pokemon's level has a direct impact on the overall "power" of your Pokemon, increasing your Pokemon's level will unlock more moves if available, and for some species it will allow you to evolve to a "better" stage and finally increase the overall stats, increasing the damage output, defence, HP and other stats. The maximum level your Pokemon can be is 125.
How do I get XP for my Pokemon?
The only way to gain Experience or XP for your Pokemon is by fainting wild Pokemon. There are a couple of factors that will affect the amount of XP you get from wild Pokemon. As mentioned in a previous guide, the higher your trainer level and the higher the level of the wild Pokemon the more XP you will gain universally. other factors would be the Pokemon you choose to battle, every pokemon has an XP gain stat that only applies to its wild form, once fainted this stat along with your trainer level the level of the wild Pokemon itself and any boss status will be used in a calculation to determine the total XP gain from that battle.
To summarise Trainer level, Wild Pokemon level, The wild Pokemon itself and Boss status determine the total XP you gain from any wild battle.

Levels effect on EVs:
Your Pokemon level has the potential to increase your total EV cap, per stat, but this will only occur once you have surpassed Level 100 with your Pokemon, then every level after 100 you will gain an additional 100 EVs to your total cap. for example, 2000 is the pre-level 100 EV cap once you get to level 101 your new cap will be 2100 and for 102 = 2200, 2300, 2400, 2500 up until level 125 and 4500 total evs.
